Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I was born in Germany and am happy mix of German (my Mom) and Peruvian (my Dad). Growing up I have lived all over the world- it was very exiting to meet new people and live a new places. The food was always great and I got to learn new languages. Some of the places I have lived in are, Venezuela, Nigeria and of course Germany and eventually my husband and I came to Durham.
Things I love to do include, gardening, skiing, exploring old cemeteries and museums as well as going to operas and ballets (yes, this is for real! ), and trying new foods.
I have an amazing husband and we have been married for 35 years. Oh, and before I forget I used to be a chemist but loved working with kids so much that I became a counselor.
I am the counselor for the Middle School . This is my 24rd year as a counselor and my 8th year here at SCS. I am a graduate of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and have my National Board Certification in School Counseling/Early Childhood through Young Adulthood. I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor. As a counselor I talk to kids individually, run small groups, do classroom presentations, crisis intervention, referral to community agencies and work with parents, teachers and administration so kids can have a great school year!
